While she made it clear that fighting is her top priority right now, Ronda Rousey recently spoke about the fact that she has some "very important decisions to make" in the near future. During UFC's "The Time Is Noiw" press conference in Las Vegas, Nevada on Monday (which you can watch in full here), the face of Women's MMA made it clear that she has a number of options on the table career-wise right now. "After February 28th, I have a lot of important decisions to make," said Rousey during the big press conference. Later in the evening when speaking with members of the MMA media, Rousey elaborated on that statement. "I've got everything getting thrown my way right now," said Rousey. "I'm in a fortuitous situation where I have so many options that I could take very many different paths right now, and which path I choose will very much depend on the manner in which I beat Cat Zingano." Rousey defends her UFC Women's Bantamweight Championship against Zingano in the co-main event of UFC 184, which takes place on February 28, 2015 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. Rousey Says She Wants To “Kill Cyborg With Her Bare Hands,” Cyborg Responds

To say UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey is not a fan of Cristiane "Cyborg" Justino is an understatement. During a recent interview with the folks at Bleacher Report, Rousey spoke about her intentions to "try and kill her with her bare hands." "She's a fraud and she's terrible for the sport," said Rousey. "And if they are going to bring her into the UFC, it is my responsibility to put her away so she can't ruin women's MMA again. But I don't think she has the right to compete. Coming in on PEDs in MMA is the equivalent of walking in there with a weapon. What's going to ruin the sport is if someone dies in there, and the other person tests positive for steroids. Then we're going to have our first homicide. Has anyone thought about that? Has anyone thought about that being more important than the numbers on one fucking card?" Rousey continued, "She's not thinking about every single woman that comes after her. About having people think she's the best in the world, when in reality she's just a fucking chemistry project. This sport deserves a champion that is way better than her. And if she tries to undo all the work I have done, then I'm going to try and kill her with my bare hands. And the only person that's going to stop me is going to be the referee." Justino took to The Underground forum to fire back at Rousey's comments. "Hahaha, you say you want to try and kill me in the cage, but you are scared of 10 pounds?" said Cyborg. "Lets meet in the middle at 140 pounds. I'm tired of the bully talking." Cyborg also offered her services to Cat Zingano, who she offered to help train. "Cat Zingano, if you are looking for a training partner let me know," said Justino. "I can not wait to see you shut this girls mouth." Rousey vs. Zingano takes place at UFC 184 on February 28, 2015 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. UFC Women's Bantamweight contender Leslie Smith has posted a new photo of her ear, and has updated fans on the condition of it after it was nearly torn off of her head in her UFC 180 bout with Jessica Eye. Smith told ESPN the following:
"My ear is not feeling nearly as bad as you'd think it would be feeling. But I can say, my days as an ear model are over. I laid down in the back and watched the replay and then it was like, 'Oh okay, I understand why the fight had to be stopped.' Then the doctor came in and numbed it, so he could stitch it back together. He just used one long thread and he kept going and going and going, like he was sewing a blanket or something. I think it took at least an hour. They told me that night that I cannot fight for 50 days. I saw an ear specialist when I got back to the U.S., and he said the stitch job was really well done. I can say, I will be wearing headgear for the rest of my life. I had been draining my ear every month for a while, and I was getting three full syringes of fluid out every day. So I knew my ears could be a problem. There is a coolness factor to having a cauliflower ear. But at this point, my cauliflower ears are not screaming hot and sexy."
Below is a photo of her ear, which she shared via Twitter on Thursday. For those who missed it, you can check out a video of Smith's ear popping in the fight with Eye from Saturday, as well as backstage photos of her ear in awful condition immediately after the fight, by clicking here. On Eminem's new album, Shady XV, the hip-hop mega-star mentions UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey on one of the tracks. On the first song off of the double-disc compilation album, which shares the name of the album itself (Shady XV), Eminem talks about having the UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion "arouse him on a couch with condoms out." Below is the portion of the song that references the female MMA star.
"I got a Magic Johnson It's like a magic wand allows me to not let a blonde arouse me If Ronda Rousey was on the couch, with the condoms out Holding a thousand Magnums at once, Wants to Pounce How I laugh in response how she dances and flaunts it around me Her flat little badonkadonk is bouncing around"
To promote the release of the new album, Eminem rapped in a "cypher" with the rest of his "Slaughterhouse" group members, including Royce Da 5'9'', who mentioned the War Machine and Christy Mack incident in one of his verses. That rhyme reads as follows.
“Mac magnet, attracting enormous green slap this clip in this gat then call this arm Christy Mack cause this bitch is that War Machine Life of a giant, but who needs size when you’re wack and your teams soft drag your girl down this hill til she admits it feels like she’s jacking a beanstalk”
Eminem's "Shady XV" is due for release on November 24, 2014. Talk about this on our official FACEBOOK page, or on our official TWITTER page. You can also talk about it in our popular FORUMS.

Top Ten MMA “Super Fights” That Can Be Made Today (Part One)

bobby-lashley-vs-brock-lesnar-1

The super fight. It's a fight-fans dream to see two warriors that you never, in your wildest dreams, imagined you'd see standing across from each other waiting for the bell to ring. For years now fans have been clamoring for a plethora of "super fights" or "dream matches" to come to fruition. Unfortunately, most -- if not all -- have yet to happen, outside of a couple of fights that were put together when the UFC bought out longtime rival PRIDE Fighting Championships. For example, who thought we'd ever see "The Iceman" Chuck Liddell and "The Axe Murderer" Wanderlei Silva trading blows in the center of the Octagon? Sure, had Liddell been able to overcome insurmountable odds in the PRIDE Grand Prix many moons ago, we had a shot at seeing Liddell vs. Silva in the PRIDE ring, but the way that whole thing was set up was a complete and utter mess. Basically put, it wasn't fair. It wasn't man vs. man, fighter vs. fighter, with all things being fair and equal. In many ways, that turned out to be a good thing. We got to witness Quinton Jackson dethrone the UFC mega-star in a fair fight, which helped further one of the best rivalries in PRIDE history -- Rampage vs. Silva. Fast-forward a few years later, UFC buys PRIDE, and the "powers that be" finally made it happen. December 29, 2007. UFC 79: "Nemesis." The "dream match" between an albeit past-their-primes Liddell and Silva would finally take place. No, they didn't have to fight two or three times in one night to finally see each other standing across the ring in hopes of finding out who the superior combatant was. It was a fresh "Iceman" and a fresh "Axe Murderer" waiting for referee Herb Dean to say "fight!" And fight they did. Had that same match took place a few years prior, it might have been a totally different story. A totally different outcome. But that's neither here nor there. It finally happened, and as a fight fan, those are the moments you dream about. This past Monday, after UFC's "The Time Is Now" press conference, current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones spoke of his desire to partake in some "super fights" or "dream matches" of his own. Picture it now -- Jones vs. Anderson Silva. Jones vs. Cain Velasquez. Hell, even Jones vs. Fabricio Werdum, the current interim UFC Heavyweight Champion who was quick to accept such a challenge. In part one of this three-part editorial feature, we here at MMANews.com decided to compile a list of what we feel are the ten biggest potential "super fights" that can be made in this great sport of mixed-martial-arts. Without further ado, let's jump right into the list, in reverse order. Click below to advance to page two to begin the countdown ...

Jim Ross Compares Brock Lesnar To Muhammad Ali, Talks Ronda Rousey At WrestleMania 31

WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross, who along with being a legendary television announcer was also once the WWE's Vice President of Talent Relations, recently spoke about Brock Lesnar and Ronda Rousey during an interview with Alternative Nation. When asked about Rousey, Ross said, "She’s my favorite MMA fighter. She has legit star power and a great personality. She’s every promoter’s dream, whether it be pro wrestling, or Hollywood, or MMA, or whatever. She has looks, she has skill, she has intelligence. If I were WWE, if I could make this happen, she would definitely have a role at WrestleMania 31 to do something." As far as Brock Lesnar is concerned, WWE's current World Heavyweight Champion and former UFC Heavyweight Champion -- the only person who can make that claim, Ross sees some similarities between he and boxing legend Muhammad Ali. "There’s always going to be a segment of the MMA community that is going to cheer for Lesnar to lose, if and when he comes back for another run after his diverticulitis issues, but that’s the beauty of it," said Ross. "Muhammad Ali told me one time, back in the 80’s, that he realized early in his career that he could make more money as a boxer, as a black man in a white man’s business as far as management and TV contracts, and distribution of PPV dollars, he said, ‘I realized my place as a fighter would be enhanced if I put myself in a position where the fans pay more money to see me lose than they would to see me win.’” OTHER RELATED MMANEWS.COM LINKS: - PHOTOS: Ronda Rousey Shows All In Very Revealing, Adult-Oriented Fashion Shoot - TUF 20 Competitor Angela Magana Releases Series Of Explicit Photos - Miesha Tate Nude Photos Leak, Being Sold Online - War Machine Victim Christy Mack Shows Graphic Photos Of Abuse She Suffered (Pt. 1) - War Machine Victim Christy Mack Shows Photos Of Abuse She Suffered (Pt. 2) - War Machine Victim Christy Mack Shows Updated Photos Of Her Recovery - EDITORIAL: Top Ten MMA “Super Fights” That Can Be Made Today (Part One) - EDITORIAL: Top Ten MMA “Super Fights” That Can Be Made Today (Part Two) - UFC's Leslie Smith's Ear Nearly Falls Off During Fight (Photos & Video) - Update: Leslie Smith Shows Current Condition Of Her Ear Days After The Fight - TUF 18 Champion Julianna Pena Posts VERY Realing Photo On Instagram

VIDEO: Ronda Rousey Fires Back At Eminem For “Badonkadonk” Reference In “Shady XV” Song

"Rowdy" Ronda Rousey fired back -- in a friendly manner, of course -- at Eminem's choice to reference her "flat-little badonkadonk" in a new track off of the rapper's double-disc "Shady XV" album. The UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion appeared flattered by the inclusion of her back-side being mentioned by one of the world's most famous musical talents, discussing the situation during a recent appearance on the "Jimmy Kimmel Live" late-night talk show, which you can watch above. "He's an artist and art isn't meant to be nice," said Rousey of Eminem's raps about her. "It's meant to make you feel something." "Rowdy" Ronda continued, "I like being called a 'slaughterhouse in a blouse.' I think that's cool. I'm not perfect, but parts of me are pretty awesome and I think if Eminem took the ass Pepsi Challenge, he would totally pick me as his favorite." For those who missed it, you can read Eminem's rhymes about Rousey, or listen to the full song, by checking out the following MMANews.com article that we published last Thursday, before all of the "Johnny-come-lately's" decided to run with it: Eminem Mentions Ronda Rousey In New Track On His “Shady XV” Album The above article also contains a pretty tasteless rhyme from Eminem's rap label-mate Royce Da 5'9'', who not-so-politely references the War Machine and Christy Mack alleged domestic abuse incident. Ladies and gentlemen, meet Paige VanZant, one of the newest additions to the UFC Women's Strawweight division. A former model, VanZant now spends her days in front of the camera for a different reason -- kicking butt. In fact, this past Saturday at the UFC Fight Night 57 event in Austin, Texas (headlined by Frankie Edgar vs. Cub Swanson), she kicked butt so well that her third-round technical knockout victory over the previously undefeated Kailin Curran in her official Octagon debut earned her a "Fight of the Night" bonus. VanZant trains at times with the folks at Team Alpha Male, led by one of the UFC's poster boys -- "The California Kid" Urijah Faber -- and is also home to current UFC Bantamweight Champion, TJ Dillashaw. At only 20 years of age, Paige "12-Gauge" VanZant stands at 5'4'' and owns a professional MMA record of 4-1, with the lone defeat to current Ultimate Fighter 20 contestant -- and in some people's eyes one of the favorites to win the competition -- Tecia Torres. Below and across the next several pages are some photos of the sexy-butt-kicker, Paige "12-Gauge" VanZant. Ronda Rousey Admits Liz Carmouche Got In Her Head During Staredown In The Past

ronda-rousey-vs-liz-carmouche-staredown

Considered by many to be the best mean-mugger in Women's MMA, UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey admitted during a recent interview that one person has actually managed to "throw her off" more so than ever before. When talking with members of the MMA media, "Rowdy" Ronda said, "You know who was the smartest ever, to really f*ck with me in the staredown? Liz Carmouche." "I've had girls try to get in my face, I've had girls try to smirk with me, stuff like that. Liz Carmouche just started spitting game right then. I was totally distracted," Rousey continued. As far as what Carmouche did to successfully get in her head, Rousey was tight-lipped on that one. "Well, I don't want her girlfriend to get mad at me or anything," Rousey said. "Let's just say it was the most thrown off I've ever been." Continuing on her discussion of pre-fight staredowns, Rousey spoke about some that she has experienced with past opponents, such as her greatest rival to date -- Miesha Tate. "I don't try to psychologically break the other person down," said Rousey. "I remember Miesha [Tate] was like ‘Ronda's shaking and she blinks too much and she's scared of me.' I'm like, ‘yeah, go back to Psych 101, b*tch.' So no, I don't really go try to break the other person down. It's mostly there for promotional value, especially for a press conference that is so far out before the fight. It's more of a media thing than a fight thing. When it comes down to fight week, then you really, you learn a lot about the other person." Rousey was then asked how she would react if she found herself in a position such as Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier found themselves in when they had their now infamous brawl earlier this year. "I can't say I would react well," Rousey said. "Miesha tried to put her forehead on me and ended up with a big red dent in her forehead. No one has really tried anything since. But I don't know. I try not to manifest situations that wouldn't work out well for me because it doesn't look good for the sport, doesn't look good for me personally, and I think the benefits of that are very short term and I try to think of the longer big picture most of the time. ... I get paid to fight on [February] 28th. Before that it only costs me money." Going back to the original topic, Rousey reiterated that Carmouche did an effective job of getting into her head a bit during the build-up to their fight, which will always be historically remembered as the first-ever Women's MMA bout in UFC history. "Liz, I think she started singing her own walkout song and she started to dance and everything and I was like I can't, I have no previous information on the subject, no knowledge of how to react to this. So no, that was the most effective staredown ever." Rousey returns to the Octagon to defend her UFC Women's Bantamweight Championship against top-ranked, undefeated contender Cat Zingano, as the two are set to co-headline the UFC 184 pay-per-view event at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. Oh, and by the way, Rousey and Zingano had a pretty heated staredown themselves recently. Tito Ortiz: “Ronda Rousey Doesn’t Want To Fight Cyborg Because She Doesn’t Want To Lose”

tito-ortiz-and-cristiane-cyborg-justino

Cristiane Justino's former manager and current Bellator Light Heavyweight contender, Tito Ortiz, recently gave his take on why he feels Ronda Rousey wants nothing to do with a fight against "Cyborg." During a recent Submission Radio interview, which you can listen to above, Ortiz spoke about a potential Rousey-Cyborg fight. Below is an excerpt from the interview.
“I’m still very close friends with Cris. She was at my last fight, and I'd seen her after her last fight, and trying to get her down to 135 is almost impossible. As I said a long time ago that they would try, they would try, and it’s going to be very hard for her to do it. And she’s tried, and she’s tried and it's almost impossible for her to do it. And if Ronda made it catch weight; I know Ronda doesn’t want to do it because she doesn’t want to lose. I see - I mean this is strictly my opinion - I just think that’s the only way that fight is ever going to happen, is if it’s at a catch weight. Because Cris is not gonna make 135. She’s never made 135. She’s always made 145 and that’s been her weight her whole career. I mean that’s like me trying to get down to 185. I mean I would never make that happen. No possible way. I could never do that. So I think that’s the only way that will ever happen, and time will tell. Let’s see if Ronda will get pushed into pressure so much [that] she has to fight Cris. If that happens, I think that’s the only way that that it will happen. I mean she wanted to fight Gina Carano at 145 so what’s the difference of fighting Cris Cyborg at 145?”

Rousey-Cyborg Delayed Even Longer As Justino Plans To Stay At Featherweight For Now

cristiane-cyborg-justino

Fans who were excited at the idea of a potential Women's MMA super fight between Ronda Rousey and Cristiane "Cyborg" Justino are going to have to wait longer than originally expected. As noted in the past, UFC President Dana White wants to see Cyborg make weight and win in the Women's Bantamweight division before signing her to the UFC, as the company only has two Women's weight classes -- Bantamweight (135 pounds) and Strawweight (115 pounds), while Cyborg has only ever fought as low as Featherweight (145 pounds). Cyborg was set to make her Bantamweight debut with Invicta at this Friday's Invicta FC 10 fight card, however an injury forced her off the show. Where things get interesting, however, is that when Justino does make her fighting return, which she expects to do in February of 2015, she will not be fighting in the Bantamweight division as she was originally planning on doing, which would have set the seeds for a potential Rousey-Cyborg super fight down the line. Instead, Cyborg will make her return in her usual Featherweight division. "I haven’t fought in a long time. With this injury, I believe the best option now will be fight in my division," Cyborg told MMAFighting.com. "I can’t wait anymore, I need to fight. I’m the featherweight champion and Invicta FC needs me to defend my belt." Cyborg continued, "Before I got injured, I was around 162 pounds with 12 percent body fat. The weight cut is already tough for my division (at 145). I need to do a long work, and that’s why I prefer not to wait much longer and fight in my division." Invicta FC 10 now features "The Karate Hottie" Michelle Waterson returning to defend her Women's Atomweight Championship against Herica Tiburico this Friday, December 5th in Houston, Texas, airing live on UFC Fight Pass.

Tonya Evinger: “Outside Of Ronda Rousey, UFC Doesn’t Really Care About The Women”

Former contestant on The Ultimate Fighter season 18 and current Invicta FC contender Tonya Evinger recently spoke out about the way Women's MMA is promoted in the UFC, claiming that the biggest MMA promotion in the world only cares about one female fighter -- Ronda Rousey. "I think they don't really care about the women," said Evinger during a recent interview with MMAFighting.com. "Ronda Rousey is their main worry. She's what they're concerned with. I think they're missing the whole point. They put all the effort in promoting certain people and that's it," Evinger continued. "It's like when guys like BJ Penn and Chuck Liddell retired, they didn't build new guys under them. Now no one knows who some of these people are. I think that they're making that same mistake with the women." The TUF 18 contestant concluded, "They're putting all the limelight and the exposure on one woman and forgetting about everyone else... Girls there are active, but not getting that much exposure."

The remake of the 1989 classic Jean-Claude Van Damme film "Kickboxer" just snagged another well-known martial artist. It had been previously reported that former UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre had joined the cast, however now it's official that the film is getting an addition of a former female fighting champ. In a press release issued today, it was revealed that former Strikeforce standout Gina Carano has joined the cast of the movie, which began production last week in New Orleans -- and will also film in Thailand. The plot of the movie features Alain Moussi as Kurt Sloan, who travels to Thailand to avenge his brother's death at the hands of Tong Po, played by former WWE Superstar David "Batista" Bautista. The leading star of the original film -- Jean-Claude Van Damme -- has also been cast for the film. And the veteran action-movie star will play Master Chow, the mentor to Moussi. "It will be fun to watch Gina as the sneaky and dangerous temptress, a boa constrictor of this fighting jungle," said Ted Field of Radar Films. "Watch out kickboxers!"
