During a recent Q&A hosted by The Wall Street Journal in Los Angeles, California, UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey appeared to be teasing a potential surprise return to WWE in the future. When asked if she would confirm that she will never return to WWE again, "Rowdy" Ronda pointed out that the surprise factor of her WrestleMania 31 appearance was half of the fun, and that if fans want that fun again, they should drop the subject for a while. "Look, the thing is, would you really want to know?" Rousey said. "Here's the thing. With the last WrestleMania, what was the coolest part? It's the surprise. So do you really want to know? Maybe this is all part of some plot, to put Dana out there and be like, 'Nope, no way it'll ever happen.' Then make everyone forget about it so later I can just pop up like, 'What? Dana said no.'" Rousey continued, "That's the cool thing about WWE. You don't know which factors are being put out there because they're real and which ones are being put out there to put you guys off [to] what's really going to happen." "As an avid wrestling fan, myself, I would rather not know. If you knew that Seth Rollins was going to turn on The Shield would you have wanted to know? No. It would have ruined that moment. As a fan and respecting your fandom, I can't tell you anything."

Bethe Correia went too far with some of her recent promotional comments towards Ronda Rousey, and is now back-tracking and asking for forgiveness. Correia, who meets Rousey in the main event of UFC 190 on August 1st in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, told Rousey not to commit suicide after she beats her, noting that she will give her a rematch. Rousey was quick to react to the comment, pointing out that suicide is not a topic to use as a selling point for a fight. Rousey, who has dealt with the issue personally, as her father committed suicide years ago, told Correia that she is going to pay for those comments. "Suicide is no joke or selling point. My father will be with me the day I hand you the comeuppance you deserve," wrote Rousey on Twitter. Correia, who claims she was unaware of the situation with Rousey's father, back-tracked and asked the champion for forgiveness. "Never knew what happened to [your] dad. I'm humble enough to ask [you] for forgiveness," wrote Correia. "Family is a godly bless to me. See [you] in #UFC190." https://twitter.com/bethecorreia/status/603956477456420864

Several UFC Women's contenders, including Miesha Tate and Sara McMann, have spoken out against UFC's new Reebok deal, claiming it is financially unfair to women. The UFC has since responded. After the reports gained some momentum, UFC issued a statement in response to the accusations. Below is the official statement.
"The new UFC Athlete Outfitting Policy (AOP) equally recognizes each athlete's tenure in UFC, as well as any bout appearances in the WEC and Strikeforce for the period those organizations were under the Zuffa, LLC ownership. Women fighters with limited bouts under the tenure model are treated the same as other experienced men or women new to UFC from other organizations not included in the tenure model. This new policy was designed to provide an equal opportunity for both men and women in each tenure tier. In addition, the champions and challengers, regardless of tenure, will be equally compensated under the AOP for their bouts, something few other sports can claim."

Respected MMA trainer Cesar Gracie recently shared a story about two UFC Women's contenders beating the crap out of a man who was being disrespectful at a bar in San Francisco. Gracie recapped the story, which features Leslie Smith and Heather Jo Clark beating down a drunken, groping man outside of a local bar. Below is Gracie's post, courtesy of his official Facebook page:
Dirtbag decides to sexually harass group of females. What he didn't know was that 2 of the women were MMA fighters currently in the UFC. While going out to a club in San Francisco, a malcontent male decided to cop a feel of a female entering the club. The female turned to her friend, current UFC fighter, Leslie Smith and exclaimed, "that guy just grabbed my a$$". Leslie approached the man and said, "hey you can't do that" at which point the larger male responded, "f@ck you I can do whatever I want" Leslie retorted, no muthaf@cker you can't" At this point the man became irate and spat on Leslie's face. He then proceeded to take a punch at what he thought would be an indefensible woman Wrong Leslie ducked the punch and shot in for a takedown. She quickly got to the mans back and applied a choke but decided he needed some elbow strikes and punches to learn a valuable lesson. The man unable to fend off the better fighter, desperately grabbed at Leslie's hair and in vain resorted to fighting like a girl. Approaching the melee was Leslie's friend and Meisha Tate training partner, UFC fighter Heather Clark. Heather, without missing a beat, delivered a running soccer kick to the man's nether regions. Leslie again achieved mount and delivered a series of elbows until the man, now having his face looking more like hamburger meat, yelled out that he was sorry and that he respected them. At this point Leslie disengaged and allowed the man to get up and go. He left having learned a valuable lesson and the women returned to the club.

It appears that UFC is cleaning house again, as the promotion is rumored to be releasing several fighters this week. Several of the UFC fighter profiles were deleted on Monday, which is usually an indication that the fighter has been, or is going to be released from the company. Among those included were number 13 ranked Flyweight contender Tim Elliot and UFC Women's Bantamweight pioneer Shayna Baszler. Also removed from the UFC roster page were Tateki Matsuda, Alex Torres, Dylan Andrews, Shane Howell, Rocky Lee, Vik Grujic and Alptekin Ozkilic. It's worth noting that until we receive confirmation, this should be taken strictly as a rumor.

While speaking with the legendary Larry King this week, UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey revealed that she will soon be among the highest paid fighters in the history of the UFC. King spoke with Rousey about the pay discrepancy in Hollywood between male and female actors, and asked the UFC champion if the pay between male and female fighters in MMA is the same. "Well, I don't know exactly what everyone else's contract looks like," said Rousey. "But I think within the next few fights I'll be in the top five to ten money-making of all time in MMA. So, I'm paid well." In keeping with the business themed discussion, Rousey also spoke about how she feels a pay-per-view fight between she and Invicta FC Featherweight Champion Cristiane "Cyborg" Justino would perform. When asked if she feels their fight would top the two million pay-per-view buy mark, Rousey said, "Maybe. I think it definitely would." From there, Rousey took some time to focus on the fight itself, pulling no punches in what she feels of Cyborg. "I don't like cheaters, in general," said Rousey. "She takes steroids and she walks into a cage with a weapon and tries to hurt women with it. She doesn't deserve to have that advantage. "If she can make 145 pounds pumped up full of steroids then she can get off the juice and make weight like everybody else and fight. I don't see why I have to make an exception for a con artist when she doesn't deserve any exception at all." Ronda Rousey returns to the Octagon on August 1, 2015, as she defends her UFC Women's Bantamweight Championship against undefeated number one contender Bethe Correia in the main event of UFC 190 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Although her new autobiography "My Fight / Your Fight" did not initially make the New York Times "Best Sellers" list, Ronda Rousey is now finally in the top ten. The UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion sold over 10,000 copies of her new book in the first week of its' release, however that was not enough to land on the list. WWE Looking To Sign Jessamyn Duke, TV Storylines Already Being Discussed

It appears that not only does WWE have interest in UFC Women's Bantamweight contender and member of Ronda Rousey's "Four Horsewomen" group, Jessamyn Duke, they've already got television storyline ideas for her ready to go. Apparently if Duke loses her next UFC bout against Elizabeth Phillips, who she is scheduled to fight on July 25th in Chicago, Illinois, a prospect whom she already defeated via guillotine choke in an amateur bout in 2012, there are already high-profile executives within WWE that are pushing for her to be signed by the company. Due to the success of Ronda Rousey in the UFC, and ultimately in the mainstream, Triple H in particular is pushing for the idea of WWE using women in the company in a more prominent position, as he feels Rousey proved that women can carry a promotion, or at least be used as high-profile "Superstars." For what it's worth, WWE has already begun copying the "Four Horsewomen" concept, which was actually taken from an old pro wrestling stable centered around the legendary Ric Flair, only altered to feature four women stars in the UFC instead of four men stars in pro wrestling, as they have had four of their "NXT Divas" (Charlotte -- who is the daughter of Flair, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch and Bayley) use the four finger hand symbol and other characteristics that would lead one to believe that they are a four-woman group. According to the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is talking about bringing in Jessamyn Duke, who was formerly a professional model, to take part in their "WWE Diva Search" contest, which is basically a reality show contest where fans vote on attractive women to become the newest "WWE Diva," a term used to describe a female wrestler or valet in the promotion. It looks like yet another UFC Champion may need an operation that will keep them on the sidelines until the end of the year at the earliest. The undefeated UFC Women's Strawweight Champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk, fresh off of her dominant TKO victory over Jessica Penne at UFC Fight Night 69 this past weekend, reportedly suffered a "badly broken right thumb," an injury that very well could require surgery. Jedrzejczyk's co-manager -- Shu Hirata -- broke the news during her appearance on "The MMA Hour" at MMAFighting.com on Monday. While it's currently unclear how long Jedrzejczyk will be out of action, she did mention after the fight that following a 3-0 run over the span of seven months, she wants to take some time off, noting that she would like to return to the Octagon in November or December. Whether the thumb injury will extend the amount of time she is forced to sit out remains to be seen.

Ronda Rousey’s Old Judo Coach: “Rousey Owes Her Entire Existence To Our Sport”

One of Ronda Rousey's long-lost Judo coaches recently told the Times Union that the UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion owes all of her success to the sport of Judo. The coach, John Morris, who worked with Rousey for eight months in New York, including letting her sleep on a futon in his living room, didn't receive the most positive acknowledgement from "Rowdy" Ronda in her new autobiography, "My Fight / Your Fight." "I was training under a coach I couldn't stand and who was taking my money," Rousey wrote in her book. "I was starving. I was not improving. 'What the (expletive) am I doing here?' I asked myself out loud." Morris, who claims he has yet to read the book, fired back to the Times Union about Rousey, saying if nothing else, "he'll take the free advertising for his school, good or bad." "I was happy to be mentioned," Morris said. "(Rousey) acknowledges that we were part of her rise, and anybody with a brain can say, 'These people must have something going for them.'" Morris was also one of Rousey's coaches during her run as part of the national Judo team in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. "I'm a judo coach," said Morris. "I do the best I can, and (Rousey) came to me. I didn't seek her out. She wanted expert training, and I did the best I could at that time." Morris went on to claim that when Rousey arrived at his academy, "There was nothing remarkable about her,' calling her 'an average teenage kid, kind of sloppy." "She was already an exceptional competitor, which she still is today," Morris continued. "But she was raw, and there was a lot of room for technical advances. And that's basically where I filled in a lot of things that she does today, among other coaches. I'm just a small blip in her existence." "The reality is she owes her entire existence to our sport," Morris said. "Not to me or any one person. ... The judo community raised her, and this is why she's so successful." Ronda Rousey returns to the Octagon to defend her UFC Women's Bantamweight Championship against undefeated number one contender Bethe Correia in the main event of UFC 190 on Saturday, August 1, 2015 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

In addition to Rousey, another UFC representative made the nominee list, as UFC Lightweight contender Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone earned himself a nomination for "Best Fighter" as well.
