Manny Pacquiao turned some heads on Wednesday when answering the question, "Who would win in a MMA fight -- Ronda Rousey or Floyd Mayweather?" Pacman, who fights Mayweather on May 2nd, was asked at the kick-off press conference yesterday if he feels Rousey could beat Mayweather in a MMA bout. "I believe so," said Pacquiao. "She is strong and is strong enough to beat Floyd Mayweather in MMA," said Manny during an appearance on ESPN's "His and Hers" show.

Following her 14-second destruction of Cat Zingano at UFC 184 last month, the MMA world once again touted Ronda Rousey as potentially being the female-MMA-equivilant to boxing legend Mike Tyson. In a recent Huffington Post interview, "Iron" Mike spoke about the comparisons. "Sh*t, Ronda Rousey might kick my ass," said Tyson. "That 14 seconds the last fight -- sh*t, man, you got to take that seriously. She's marketed herself, and not necessarily from a publicist's perspective." Tyson concluded, "She put in the work, too. She's putting these people to bed, she's tapping them out, she's doing the 14-second thing."

Cyborg: “Rousey Will Fight Laila Ali But Not Me Because She Is Afraid”

Cristiane "Cyborg" Justino decided to jump into the talk of a fantasy match between Ronda Rousey and women's boxing legend Laila Ali, claiming it's proof Rousey is "afraid" of her. Laila Ali, daughter of Muhammed Ali and a legendary boxing champion herself, was asked by TMZ Sports recently about a bout with MMA champion Rousey, to which she claimed she could beat Rousey, who she noted is "the size of her three-year-old daughter." This didn't sit well with Rousey, who fired back at Ali, letting her know that if she wants to make the fight a reality, "she's around." On Thursday, Invicta FC Featherweight Champion Cristiane "Cyborg" Justino decided to get in on the fun, claiming Rousey's willingness to fight Ali, but not her, is further evidence that Rousey is "afraid" to fight her. Cyborg posted the following on her official Twitter account regarding the matter.

Ronda Rousey’s Mom Comments On Rousey’s Grudge With Cris “Cyborg” Justino

Ronda Rousey's mother, AnnMaria De Mars, once again commented on her daughter's rivalry with Invicta FC Featherweight Champion Cristiane "Cyborg" Justino. During a recent appearance on Submission Radio, which you can listen to above, De Mars spoke about the Rousey-Cyborg beef. "I think the first time Ronda gets her hands on her she's going to knock her down and break her arm," said De Mars. "The reason she won't [go up in weight] apparently is because Cris Cyborg has missed weight multiple times. So if you have her fight at 140, she's going to show up at 145 or 150. So that's the first thing. If she's gonna miss 135, she can at least give Ronda 10 percent of the purse." She continued, "And then secondly, she has kind of an inflated record, because if you look back at some of her matches, she's fought woman who were 125 pounds and she's 160. You know that's like Ronda fighting her little sister and her saying 'oh look at me, I'm so dominant'. So I'm not impressed with her record, and of course failing the drug test thing. I almost feel like that's sort of like when you get a DUI. That's probably not the only time you were driving drunk. So I'd say her whole record is under suspicion; certainly the one match she got caught at is under suspicion - not suspicion, it's proven." De Mars concluded, "And then there have been - you could look them up - several matches where she missed weight and was 20 pounds or more heavier than the other person. So under those conditions and going bragging [about] how dominant you are does not impress me. And the other thing is; I love Ronda, she's a great person, she has many many wonderful qualities, but one thing about her is she holds a grudge, and she will break Cris Cyborg's arm."

Joe Rogan: “Everyone Should Be Scared Of Cyborg — Including Ronda Rousey”

UFC color commentator Joe Rogan explained why everyone -- including Ronda Rousey -- should be afraid to fight Cristiane "Cyborg" Justno during a recent episode of his "Joe Rogan Experience" podcast. "Do I understand why Ronda would want to fight her at 135? Of course, yeah, it’s the smart thing to do," said Rogan on the show, which you can watch above. "You’re going to fight a f*cking wrecking machine. She’s big and she knocks b*tches out." Rogan continued, "She knocks people out in a way that very few fighters knock people out. She puts it on girls. She’s scary." He concluded, "Everyone should be scared of her. They all should be scared, especially if you’re lighter than her."

It looks as though Ronda Rousey's mother, AnnMaria De Mars, got under Cristiane "Cyborg" Justno's skin with some of her recent comments. De Mars, who recently spoke about Rousey's beef with Cyborg during a radio appearance, promised that her daughter would break her nose and her arm if they ever fought. Justino, apparently quite annoyed by this, responded in a recent statement posted on The Underground MMA forum. "Honda mom look like Kim Kardashian mom," Justino started off in her post. "She give interview for what? She want to be TMZ superstar? I missed weight 1 time in 10 years. I don't know where she read this but I can guarantee I make 140lbs." Cyborg continued, "Cat Zingano was world Champion 125 before going up in weight to test herself, same thing Pacquiao is doing against Mayweather. Honda would rather fight girls she know she can beat in the first round because the last time she challenge herself she only take home a Bronze medal. Maybe we can ask Dana to give the loser of our fight a medal so she feel better about herself." "I don't need my mom to give interview about how I will break some movie stars nose! Honda look pussy," Justino continued. "Before she talk about me but now she quiet and her mom defend her. Everybody knows the time is coming. Ms. Housey please sit front row our fight and you will cry. Watch Joanna Jedrzejczyk last fight this is perfect example of how To stop takedown. I don't want your belt, I want your soul. #ChampionVsChampion." The Ultimate Fighter 18 Champion, Julianna Pena, who recently came to Arianny Celeste's defense against the "bully" Ronda Rousey, is back with some more choice words for the UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion. During a recent appearance on Submission Radio, Pena shared her thoughts on a potential match against the UFC Women's 135-pound champ. "Where I would hold the advantage is that I would not be mentally broken before the fight ever started, which I feel is sometimes to me - in my opinion - what seems to be the case with these other women that are facing her," said Pena. "They already look dead upon arrival when they're in the cage with her and I refuse to be shaken," Pena continued. "I've been bullied my whole life and I just feel like she's been a bully, and I feel like in the sense that I'm the bully and I'm a bigger bully than she can imagine, and I think that I would also have the advantage in the sense that I'm not afraid wherever the fight goes." Joe Rogan Defends Comments About Ronda Rousey Being Able To Beat UFC’s Male Bantamweights

joe-rogan-podcast

After creating a stir with his recent discussion about Ronda Rousey being able to defeat many of the men in the UFC Bantamweight division, UFC color commentator Joe Rogan is back to elaborate and defend his previous comments. During a recent podcast, Rogan claimed that he felt Rousey could not only hang with many of the men in the UFC 135-pound weight class, but she could beat at least half of them. "People got upset when I said that I think she could beat a lot of men in her weight class," Rogan said on his podcast. "They don't know. They've never rolled with a girl who is really good." Rogan continued, "Technique is paramount and her technique is so lazer sharp. If she got in there with a guy who doesn't have that good of technique, just because he's a man, the physical strength, the benefits of being a male, whatever advantages he may have, aren't necessarily going to counter the technique that she has when they're the same weight." Rogan does admit, however, that Rousey would have issues fighting men who are bigger than she is. "She competes at 135 pounds," said Rogan. "Okay, if you deal with her versus a guy at 170 [pounds] like Johny Hendricks? Jesus, of course that's a mismatch. Johny Hendricks is a powerful, big strong man and he'd most likely beat her up." Rogan continued, "But talking about a guy who is her weight and then even if he's physically stronger than her, maybe he can hit harder, but how much of a technical advantage does she have on the ground? She could easily catch you in something in a scramble. Easily. She's one, two, three, four steps ahead of you." Rogan also told a quick story about how Rousey's dominant win over Cat Zingano at UFC 184 won over another doubter. "I was talking to [UFC veteran] Jorge Gurgel about [Rousey] at the last UFC and he's like, 'That's when I bowed down to Ronda.' That's how he said it. Jorge is a black belt, as well. He was like, 'Yeah, she's got good armbars but sometimes she does things I don't agree with. Maybe her knees are a little too wide apart. She's catching these girls. Maybe she's catching these girls because they're not too technical.' He goes, 'When she hit that armbar on Zingano 14 seconds in, look, I gotta bow down. That's some high level technique. Just the ability to adjust. That language that she has in her head. She's so articulate with the language of submissions, in her case, armbars.'"

During a recent radio interview, Ronda Rousey's head coach Edmond Tarverdyan spoke about the potential Rousey-Cyborg bout, explaining why he feels Rousey would out-strike Cyborg with ease. "Ronda beats Cyborg any given day in striking," said Tarverdyan during a recent "Submission Radio" appearance. "Cyborg fought a Muay Thai girl - and we have coaches that have trained with her too. We know her - she [Cyborg] got dropped with a push kick [laughs] on her face." "No way," Tarverdyan continued. "You know, Ronda has sparred with the best female Muay Thai champion in [the] United States. They know Ronda is the best of all of them. It's not only the best. [In] 14 ounce gloves, they're most of the time they're on the floor and getting up, you know?" "Ronda's too good for her," he concluded. UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey recently appeared on ESPN's "First Take" to give her detailed analysis of the upcoming boxing mega-fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. "It's a very, very close fight, it really is, but Manny is a friend of mine and I got to stick up for my friends," said Rousey of the fight, which is scheduled for May 2nd in Las Vegas, Nevada. "It's not just that," she continued, "I really believe if Manny doesn't jump in, and if he uses really relentless pressure and uses all of his speed, I think he's going to give Floyd a really hard time." Rousey continued, "Being an actual fighter and not just talking about it, I can't say what exactly it will be, but I think Manny will present Floyd with some very unique problems he hasn't dealt with yet; speed and relentlessness. If he doesn't jump in, stays planted on his feet and he uses all of that speed that he has, I think it's a really good strategy for him." UFC President Dana White has confirmed that Cristiane "Cyborg" Justino will indeed attempt to make 135-pounds for a mega-fight against UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey. "For her next fight, she’s going to try to make 135 pounds," White said on Friday in an interview with Toronto’s CP24. "If she successfully makes that weight and wins, then yeah, she can come in and fight Ronda," White added. "Cyborg" recently signed a deal with Zuffa, while Rousey inked a contract extension with the UFC, so if Justino is able to successfully make 135-pounds, it looks like the MMA world will finally get the Women's MMA super-fight that they have been anticipating for so long.

bethe-correia-street-fight

Just two days after it was announced that she would be fighting Ronda Rousey for the UFC Women's Bantamweight Championship at UFC 190, Bethe Correia was involved in a street fight in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Correia was with her boyfriend, Edelson Silva, who also happens to be one of Anderson Silva's boxing coaches, and her sister Suzana Correia, at a hotel in Rio de Janeiro. The trio asked for a taxi to go out to dinner, but decided instead to eat at a restaurant across the street when the cab arrived. The cab driver, Cleonardo de Freitas Alves, wanted to charge them anyway, which is what started everything. Alves reportedly threatened to grab a gun out of his glove box, which led to a fist-fight between he and Silva. Video footage has leaked online, which you can watch above, that shows some of the action caught on a security camera. "He wanted us to pay him five reais (approximately two dollars), and I gave him seven," Correia explained to MMAFighting.com. "But he kept asking Edelson for more money, saying we wasted his time. They started to argue and Edelson told him to f--k off, and that’s when the taxi driver left the car and started the fight with Edelson. They started to fight, to punch each other. My sister and I didn’t do anything." Correia continued, "(Alves) said he would grab a gun at the glove compartment. When he said that, my sister went after him, but I pulled her away. I could have used all my martial art knowledge to stop him, but I didn’t want to fight. I was calm, but he was threatening us." "The taxi driver didn’t even recognize me. When the police showed up, they wanted to take Edelson with him, but the hotel’s receptionist said ‘ah, that fighter over was also involved’, so they called my room and asked for me to go with them. The taxi driver didn’t recognize me, but now he wants to use this to become famous. Edelson was just protecting us. This is bulls--t. What would you do if a man says he’s grabbing a gun to threaten your family? Edelson was protecting us." A couple days later, Correia started receiving death threats via social media. One of the messages included a picture of a gun with the caption, "Coward, son of a b---h. S--tty monkey. Punch me." "I received a lot of threats, but I deleted everything because I didn’t want to pay attention to all this. But I saved this with the gun because he is disgusting," Correia said. "He wants to attack me because I’m at the best moment of my career. Unfortunately, that’s the price we pay for the fame. I don’t know what else he wants from me. I’m 30-year-old and I never fought in the street." "How am I going to trust taxi drivers now?" she asks. "They are so tight. I go to Rio all the time. The biggest moment of my career is going to be in Rio. I try not to pay attention to all this. I’m training hard and focused on winning this title." One of the threatening social media messages can be seen below. Bethe Correia challenges Ronda Rousey for the UFC Women's Bantamweight Championship in the main event of UFC 190, which takes place on August 1, 2015 at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

UPDATE: You can watch the complete Ronda Rousey segment with The Rock from WrestleMania 31 by clicking here. Ronda Rousey not only showed up at WrestleMania 31 on Sunday night, she helped steal the show. "Rowdy" Ronda, who as we noted earlier this evening, was in town for WrestleMania 31 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, not only took part in the show, but took part in potentially the most memorable segment on the pay-per-view. During a segment, which featured a surprise return by The Rock, who less than 24 hours ago was on the opposite coast for a live taping of Saturday Night Live, the UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion ended up getting involved. For those who aren't pro wrestling fans, and/or didn't watch WrestleMania 31 on Sunday, we'll spare you the attempt at explaining, and simply provide you with our entire recap of the segment, courtesy of our live play-by-play results at our pro wrestling sister-site, SEScoops.com.
In-Ring Segment: Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, The Rock & Ronda Rousey Back live inside the ring, The Authority, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are announced. Stephanie begins, saying everyone in the stadium set a new attendance record of 76,976 fans. HHH takes over, doing a big heel promo about beating Sting and talking about how The Authority always wins. As HHH continues to brag we hear, "If ya smell....." and whatta ya know? The Rock traveled from New York after doing Saturday Night Live last night all the way to California for WrestleMania, as "The Brahma Bull" electrifies 76,976 fans (according to WWE, which is obviously not true), as he makes his way to the ring. The "Rocky! Rocky!" chants break out inside Levi's Stadium as The Rock holds a mic and his music dies down. Triple H looks at him with a confused look on his face. The Rock says he was born in East Bay. He says he's an East Bay boy. He tells The Authority that they don't own the people, and they damn sure don't own The Rock. The Rock says Triple H can go backstage and dress up like the Terminator again, or we can create history right now. The Rock alludes to wrestling Triple H. Triple H gets in Rock's face. HHH, while staring right in Rock's face, damn near nose-to-nose, says they had a hell of a rivalry, but as he remembers it, he kicked Rock's ass most of the time, so he claims he has nothing to prove. HHH walks off, but Rock stops him, by telling HHH he has no balls. With that said, HHH takes his jacket off and prepares to fight. Rock bounces around ready to fight as well. Before anything happens, Stephanie tells HHH to hold on. Steph says if it wasn't for the McMahon's, there would be no Rock. She talks about the history of WWE making The Rock's relatives famous, his grandfather, his father, etc. Rock makes a joke about McMahon's and Johnson's, a play-on-words type of thing, which prompts Steph to slap the hell out of him. Steph gets in his face and asks him what he's going to do about it. She asks if he's going to hit a woman. She yells at him to get out of her ring. She mocks Rock as he starts to get out of the ring. Rock heads out of the ring. Rock goes to leave, but Steph keeps mocking and taunting him, so instead he walks around the ring. The fans already realize what's up, as Rock walks part Ronda Rousey. The fans chant "Ronda Rousey! Ronda Rousey!" Rock stops next to her and waives her over the barricade. Rock and Rousey head back into the ring together. The fans are going completely nuts. The fans chant "Ronda's gonna lill you" and "This is awesome" as Rock and Rousey stand down HHH and Stephanie. The Rock says he would never hit a woman, but he has a friend who would. Steph tells Rock that he had his little surprise and that's great, but she tells Rock that she and Rousey are actually friends. She tells Rousey to tell Rock that they're friends. Steph tries to suck up to Rousey, calling her the "Queen of the Octagon" and "the most dangerous un-armed woman in the world," before turning cold again and telling Rousey to get the hell out of her ring. Rock hands Rousey the mic. Rousey says, "You need to understand something, Steph. Any ring I step in is mine." She tells Steph, "If you want me to leave, how about you make me?" The fans "ooh" and "ahh" at that. Steph gets a serious tone in her voice and says, "Ronda, I said get the hell out of my ring -- NOW!" The Rock gets back on the mic. "Excuse The Rock for one second." He tells Stephanie what the look in Rousey's eyes means. Rock warns Steph about how bad Rousey is gonna beat her ass. HHH gets fed up. He says he's tired of hearing bad things about his wife. Rock starts firing away at HHH with punches. Rousey arm-drags HHH out of the ring. Steph grabs Rousey from behind. Stephanie goes to do her trademark bitch-slap to Rousey, but Rousey catches her arm and yanks on it as the announcers say Rousey might break Steph's arm. Steph gets the hell out of dodge as Rock gets back on the mic. The Rock says that's the biggest "WrestleMania moment" of the night, before closing by saying, "If ya smell what The Rock and Rousey is cookin'!"
