During a recent interview with TMZ Sports, UFC On FOX 22 headliner Paige VanZant's comments about a potential fight with UFC mega-star Ronda Rousey went viral. At the UFC On FOX 22 Open Workouts this week, VanZant doubled-down on those comments.
"It's TMZ, they came up to me and asked me about that matchup and it's like, how many times am I going to be asked that question before people realize we're in far different weight classes," questioned VanZant to members of the MMA media during the workouts held in Sacramento, California ahead of her showdown with former Invicta FC Champion "The Karate Hottie" Michelle Waterson.
VanZant continued, addressing the reaction to her comments to TMZ Sports about being willing to compete against Rousey.
"Now, I tell people I want to fight her and all of a sudden it's like the news of the year," said VanZant. "I have nothing but love for Ronda, I really do. I have nothing but respect for her and I hope she has a successful return."
"I'm also in the business, I'll fight anybody for the right amount of money," the former Dancing With The Stars contestant concluded.
VanZant-Waterson headlines tonight's UFC On FOX 22 event, which airs live on FOX Sports 1 from the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California.
