Dana White recently appeared as a guest on ESPN's "First Take" and updated fans on the physical condition of former UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey following her devastating loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193 at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia.
According to the UFC President, the "Rowdy" Ronda comparisons to boxing legend Mike Tyson were completely warranted, even with her losing in one-sided fashion back in November.
"It's crazy, because you win and lose in the fight game," White said. "It happens. It's funny because we were comparing her to Tyson, who had this invincibility."The UFC boss continued, elaborating on the Tyson comparison and explaining how it helps prove that she gained some stardom even in her first professional loss.
"She was a Tyson. It was never more true than when she lost. Because when she lost, everybody was shocked. A hundred million people were talking about it on social media. And I actually think that Ronda Rousey is bigger now after the loss than she was before the fight. And there's gonna be a rematch."White also revealed the fact that other than getting surgery to repair her badly torn lip immediately after the fight in Melbourne, she has since received a full head-to-toe examination and is reportedly 100-percent healthy.
"She's fine. Now she's just gotta take some time off, relax."
