According to UFC President Dana White, a rematch between UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Holly Holm and Ronda Rousey is imminent.
White spoke about the UFC's plans to match Holm and Rousey against each other again following their record-breaking first fight at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia during his appearance on ESPN's "Mike & Mike" radio show.
"I think that if we didn't make the rematch, me and [UFC CEO] Lorenzo [Fertitta] should probably lose our promoters' license. Yeah, that fight's going to happen. I don't know when, but that's the fight that will happen."As White sees it, despite the fact that Rousey was thoroughly dominated by Holm at UFC 193, all of her past accomplishments warrants an immediate rematch, something Holm is more than willing to do.
"Ronda Rousey has gone undefeated, taken the sport to another level and was beating the best women in the world in 14 seconds or 30 seconds, so she deserves a rematch. Holly agrees she deserves a rematch, and we'll figure it out."
