Ever since Ronda Rousey's UFC Bantamweight Championship loss to Holly Holm last weekend, talk of her current coaching being inadequate has blown up. Generally, the camp that's usually suggested for has been Rafael Coredeiro's Kings MMA. There are a few reasons for this:
* She wouldn't have to leave theLos Angeles area.
* Kings MMA specializes his pressure fighters and she's made herself a pressure fighter.
* Kings MMA has also made a mark turning expert grapplers like UFC Heavyweight Champion Fabricio Werdum and UFC Lightweight Champion Rafael Dos Anjos into great strikers.
Today, MMAFighting reported that Dos Anjos is, at least publicly, encouraging her to jump ship from the Glendale Fighting Club. They quoted him as saying:
I think it would be great for her to come here. We have a great energy here. Not just because I'm training here, but Master Rafael Cordeiro has over 28 years of experience in MMA. It would be great for Ronda. For sure, we're going to have a great camp for her here. Great training partners. Great coaches. Master Cordeiro is going to have a great fight game plan for her. If she comes, she'll have everything she needs to get her belt back.As for potential Rousey rival Cris Cyborg, who trains sometimes at Kings and is cornered by Werdum, Dos Anjos said that "We can make it work. I think, on my part, [Rousey] is always welcome here." Dos Anjos defends his title against Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone in the main event of the December 19th UFC on Fox card.
