It looks like MMA fans won't be getting the double-main event show at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas in December as they were originally expecting. Kevin Iole of Yahoo! Sports is reporting that the MGM Grand Garden Arena made a huge play to get the Conor McGregor vs. Jose Aldo title unification bout, a fight that was originally scheduled for the venue on July 11 before Aldo was forced to pull out of the fight due to a rib injury. Now, the Aldo-McGregor title fight will return to the Las Vegas-based venue, but UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey will not be coming with them. According to UFC President Dana White, had the UFC traveled to AT&T Stadium for the Aldo-McGregor fight, the trilogy bout between Rousey and Miesha Tate was going to be the co-main event of the mega-stadium show. With Aldo-McGregor moving back to Las Vegas, this time on December 12, there is no current date or location on the books for Rousey's next title defense, which is still expected to be against "Cupcake" Tate. "That fight isn't going to be on the [Aldo-McGregor] card, for sure," White told Yahoo! Sports about adding Rousey-Tate to the Aldo-McGregor card. "If we were going to go to Dallas Cowboys Stadium, that's another story, but the MGM really wanted the fight and they made a huge effort for it and they got it. And it works out better for us to be in Las Vegas."
